Apple re-releases Safari updates
On December 3rd, Apple released an update for Safari that applies across all of its supported versions of OS X; however, soon after its release, undisclosed problems with the update had Apple pull it from its software update distribution services. This resulted in only a small percentage of downloads, followed by people not being able to apply the update. Today, Apple has rectified the still-unknown problems with the update, and has re-released them under new version numbers that are available to all users, even those who were able to install the prior updates. Apple focusing on Wi-Fi stability with latest OS updates
One of the biggest challenges that Apple’s engineers seem to be up against in OS X is maintaining Wi-Fi stability, where quite often users will find their Macs unable to connect to Wi-Fi routers, or have an inability to maintain connections with these routers and other Wi-Fi devices.

Yosemite adds options to automatically install OS X updates
When software updates for OS X and apps you have purchased in the App Store become available, by default you will see a message in Notification Center, which you can click to launch the App Store and apply the updates. In the past Apple has offered options to download updates in the background, and install important security updates and app updates, but in Yosemite has included new options that encompass all software updates. Apple issues fix for ‘Shell Shock’ Bash vulnerability
Following its acknowledgement of the Shell Shock bug, Apple has issued an update to OS X versions 10.7.5 and above, which installs a new version of Bash that fixes some of the recently found holes in this small but critical aspect of OS X. The fix, called “OS X Bash Update 1.0,” should be available for download through Apple’s Software Update service, which can be accessed by going to the Apple menu. Continue reading
How to prepare your iPhone or iPad for iOS 8
Apple has announced iOS 8 will be released on September 17, and as with prior iOS updates it will appear as a notice on your iPhone (models 4S, 5, 5S, or 5C), iPad (models 2, 3, 4, including the Air, and all versions of the Mini), or iPod Touch (5th generation only) that will instruct you to download and install the new software; however, before you do, be sure your various iDevices and their contents are backed up, and are otherwise prepared for the update.
