Apple re-releases Safari updates
On December 3rd, Apple released an update for Safari that applies across all of its supported versions of OS X; however, soon after its release, undisclosed problems with the update had Apple pull it from its software update distribution services. This resulted in only a small percentage of downloads, followed by people not being able to apply the update. Today, Apple has rectified the still-unknown problems with the update, and has re-released them under new version numbers that are available to all users, even those who were able to install the prior updates. Apple issues fix for password autofill bug in Safari
Apple has released three updated versions of its Safari Web browser, which commonly address an issue where saved passwords would not be automatically into relevant password fields as expected. In addition to fixing how passwords are managed, the updates include fixes for iCloud Drive syncing in Yosemite, and otherwise include general stability and performance improvements, according to the updates’ descriptions. Firefox likely coming to iOS
In a recent tweet following an internal meeting at Mozilla, Lukas Blakk, the Firefox release manager made an announcement that indicates the company is breaking its stance of not bringing its popular Web browser to iOS, and will instead be pursuing a route to have the browser available as an App, similar to Chrome, Safari, and other browsers. How to subscribe to RSS feeds in Safari 8
If you have been a fan of using RSS feeds for keeping updated on the happenings of your favorite Web sites, then you will be happy to know that Apple has added RSS feed support back to Safari. In the past, when browsing a Web site with an RSS feed you would see an indication of this support in Safari’s address bar, and then could click it to view the RSS feed and subscribe to it; however, this was removed in subsequent versions up to version 8, where Apple has brought this feature back.
