Safari 6.1.6 and 7.0.6 updates available

SafariIconXApple has released updates for its supported Safari browser versions, that address some critical bugs in WebKit which could allow attackers to crash the browser and execute unauthorized code. The updates are available for OS X Lion v10.7.5, OS X Lion Server v10.7.5, OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5, and OS X Mavericks v10.9.4, and should be available by going to Software Update in the Apple menu.

The specific vulnerabilities that these updates address are CVE-2014-1384 through CVE-2014-1390, which have been found by a combination of Apple researchers, Google developers, and independent security analysts.

If you are running OS X Lion or later on your Mac, check Software Update and keep Safari up to date. As always, even though this update should just be a quick fix for known bugs, be sure to fully back up your system before applying this or any other software update or configuration change to your system.
